Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Design professional to support engineering and design teams in delivering safe, cost-effective projects. The role involves creating P&C drawings for substations, battery storage, and solar substations, while interpreting specifications and coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities include reading and creating diagrams, collaborating with design groups, and site visits to advise on P&C design issues.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in CAD design.
• Proven AutoCAD and/or MicroStation skills.
• Experience reading P&C design packages and diagrams (one-/two-line diagrams, schematics, panels, wiring diagrams).

Position Overview:

Provide substation protection and control design, technical support, and coordination to a transmission substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality design and drafting projects. Provide technical competency on complex problems for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector substations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Understanding of protection and control designs as they apply to utility substation and transmission line equipment.
• Experience in reading and interpreting P&C design packages, including one- and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Create substation P&C design drawings from client standards and industry best practices for substation P&C projects
• Ability to interpret written specifications and implement them in engineering drawings
• Collaborate, communicate, and liaise effectively with other design disciplines
• Visit sites, advise on P&C design issues

Requirements

• 2-4 Year(s) experience in CAD Design
• Proven Autocad and/or Microstation skills
