Job summary

Exelon is seeking an engineer to perform the less complex electric substation and transmission system design with a focus on protection and controls. You will review construction plans, determine interference with facilities, and coordinate field planning and permitting with customers and agencies.

The role requires knowledge of algebra, trigonometry and drafting, plus experience with CADD/AutoCAD. Maryland-based position with overtime and field visits expected.

Qualifications

• Algebra, trigonometry and mechanical drawing needed to create construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply utility design standards.
• Familiarity with CADD tools and accurate documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs the less complex electric substation and transmission system design with focus on Protection and Controls.
• Reviews proposed construction plans to determine interference with existing or proposed facilities.
• Coordinates planning with field construction personnel and negotiates permits and scheduling with customers and government agencies.
