Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Designer – Substation to support design projects across our platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D Physical and P&C design tasks with emphasis on accuracy, standards compliance, and CAD proficiency.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design for HV substations, with experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and related tools. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred; 4-year Eng Tech degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years CAD/design experience in electric utility substation projects.
• Proficiency with 3D design software and SDS is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of substation materials and construction standards.

Responsibilities

• Work on substation design projects from inception to completion.
• Utilize 3D and smart design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams on deliverables.
• Travel occasionally for project site visits.
• Support document management and engineering practices.
• Identify project problems and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Adhere to corporate standards and procedures.
