Quanta Government Solutions is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design assignments, including yard layouts, grounding, protection & control systems, and design documents under supervision.

You will collaborate with engineers and field personnel, apply NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE/ANSI standards, and travel for projects as needed. A ABET-accredited degree and FE exam are desirable, with growth opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• FE exam desirable.
• Curiosity about substation components and design is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components including yard layouts, grounding, and protection systems.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs from engineering documents.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure project accuracy.
