Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design assignments, including layout, protection and control systems, while ensuring safety and construction standards. You will collaborate with engineers and field personnel, with a clear path for career progression across bands as experience grows.

The role requires a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, and FE exam desirability.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• FE exam passing is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn about substation components and work in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components and layouts, including grounding and protection.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and panel layouts.
• Produce design drawings and BOMs for planning, construction and maintenance.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Review quality and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain project documentation and support engineering calculations.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
