Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design assignments, ensuring safety and construction standards compliance. You will collaborate with engineers and field personnel, develop layouts and schematics, and prepare design documentation for a team supporting projects across the QISG platform.

Reporting to a Supervising Engineer, the role offers growth through four bands as expertise increases, with travel for projects as required and a focus on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the FE exam is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn about major substation components and basic knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and email.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components, including yard layouts, grounding, protection building arrangements, raceways and power systems.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and panel layouts.
• Create design drawings, calculations and Bills of Materials from engineering documents.
