Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design tasks, including layout, protection and control systems, and material selection. The role reports to a Supervising Engineer within a substation design team across QISG projects.

Four bands advance with experience and mastery. You will design physical components, develop schematics, and generate design drawings while ensuring safety and construction standards.

Qualifications

• Bacheloregree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components including yard layouts, grounding, and protection systems.
• Develop protection schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and panel layouts.
• Prepare design drawings, calculations and BoMs from engineering documents.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and support calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to ensure accuracy.
• Travel for project assignments as required.
