Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer I to perform substation design assignments, including yard layouts, protection & control systems, and material selections. You will prepare design documents and work with engineers and field personnel to ensure accuracy and safety compliance.

You will report to a Supervising Engineer within a substation design team; candidates should hold a ABET-accredited Bachelors in EE, with FE exam desirable, and a strong willingness to

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Passing the FE exam is highly desirable.
• Curiosity about substation components; prior design/construction experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design physical substation components, yard layouts, grounding, and protection schemes.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and panel layouts.
• Create design drawings and materials from engineering docs for planning and construction.
• Perform engineering calculations including voltage drop and grounding analysis.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Review quality, identify issues, and provide recommendations.
