Job summary

DACON, the construction unit of Dashiell Corporation, seeks a Construction Project Coordinator in Port Arthur, TX, to support project managers and field leadership. You will coordinate construction activities, manage project documentation, and help ensure milestones are met on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities include planning with PMs, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, tracking changes, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in construction management or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year in construction coordination or related support role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across project teams, field crews, and corporate departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling construction activities in coordination with project managers and field leadership.
• Coordinate timelines between field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, and the Project Management team.
• Monitor project progress and flag delays, conflicts, or issues to stakeholders.
• Assemble project documentation packages for field leadership, including drawings, schedules, SEPs, and contracts.
• Track and organize change orders; gather timesheets and coordinate with Accounting for costs.
• Ensure project files are maintained per company standards and document control procedures.
• Submit, track, and update 811 tickets prior to any digging or construction work.
• Support contract administration and document control systems.
• Assist the General Foreman with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction coordination/related support role

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to work collaboratively across project teams, field crews, and corporate departments
