Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to lead Substation construction efforts on a field assignment with travel. You will coordinate safety, schedule, cost, and quality decisions in collaboration with the Project Field Manager, ensuring work aligns with project goals.

The role requires a strong background in substations, project controls, and team leadership, with a history of managing resources and subcontractors to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field preferred, or relevant field experience.
• 10+ years construction supervisory experience required.
• OSHA Training
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
• Substation construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides the site construction teams the means, methods, and staffing to support Substation construction.
• Develops and maintains construction procedures and quality programs associated with Substation work.
• Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Operations Manager, Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager.
• Develops corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
• Verifies equipment, materials, manpower, and resources are on site to support the project schedule.
