Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Designer – Substation to support design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform 2D/3D design tasks with CAD proficiency and collaborate with engineers to deliver quality drawing packages for internal and client-facing deliverables.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design, experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent; Eng Tech degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of CAD/design experience in electric utility substations.
• Experience with 3D and smart design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS).
• Strong teamwork and clear written/spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects from inception to completion.
• Utilize 3D and/or smart design software for substation design.
• Apply QA/QC procedures to ensure workmanship standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams on deliverables.
• Travel as required for project needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
