Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Designer – Substation to support substation design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D design tasks with CAD proficiency, under the direction of a Lead Designer, collaborating with engineers and drafting teams to deliver accurate drawing packages for client deliverables.

The ideal candidate has strong familiarity with substation materials and industrial design standards, plus proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and SDS.

Qualifications

• 4 years in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substation projects.
• Background in substation design and familiarity with design standards.
• Proficiency with 3D and smart design software is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate with engineers and drafting teams.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects from inception to completion.
• Utilize 3D and CAD tools to develop and maintain quality drawings for internal and client deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and corporate standards.
• Travel occasionally to project sites as required.
