Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC (QISG) seeks a Substation Designer to support design projects using CAD tools and 3D/SMART design software. You will work under a Lead Designer, collaborating with engineers and drafting teams to produce accurate drawings for internal and client use.

The role requires an associates degree in drafting/design or equivalent, plus 4+ years in the electric utility CAD/design field. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' CAD/design experience in high voltage substation projects.
• Experience with 3D and/or smart design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CAD programs and major substation components.
• Willing to travel as required for project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects across the QISG platform.
• Develop and maintain quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams under a Lead Designer.
• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion using 3D and smart design software.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures and ensure workmanship standards.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
