Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Designer – Substation to support design projects across the QISG platform. This role emphasizes accuracy, CAD proficiency, and adherence to industry standards under the guidance of a Lead Designer.

Ideal candidates bring strong familiarity with substation materials, construction methods, and utility design standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and related tools is preferred, with occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience in drafting with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substations.
• Experience with 3D and/or smart design software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects across the QISG platform with routine 2D/3D tasks.
• Work under a Lead Designer and collaborate with engineers and drafting teams.
• Develop and maintain quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.
