Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Submarine Development Professional to join the Keel to Career program, supporting the Navy's COLUMBIA class.

You will rotate through submarine engineering disciplines, engaging with experts and vendors to build breadth of knowledge and contribute to design and acquisition decisions. This role emphasizes developing skills in structural, electrical, propulsion, acoustics, and QA areas, with mentorship and promotion toward defense program objectives.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• At least one year in an accredited university’s engineering, technology, computer science or science.
• Interest in shipbuilding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to use a variety of software products (e.g. MS Office).
• Veteran experience in the military is a plus!
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a job rotational program to learn various aspects of submarine engineering, design, research and development.
• Potential areas of engagement include structural systems, materials, electrical/electronic systems, propulsion machinery, submarine acoustics, and support systems.
• Familiarize yourself with the Submarine Shipbuilding Industry and a broad range of vendors, shipbuilding activities, and tools.
• Learn submarine construction and design, quality assurance and Navy risk management programs.
• Assist in timely design and acquisition decisions.
• Interface with experts and stakeholders.
• Receive mentorship for resume development, interview skills, and job searches.
