Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an NPES Engineer to support U.S. Navy submarine operations and combat systems. You will apply hands-on Navy experience to operate, troubleshoot, and evaluate fire control and related equipment, coordinating with Navy and industry partners to ensure mission readiness.

The role requires a DoW secret clearance eligibility, Navy FT/FC background, and a strong technical communications skill set. Opportunities for travel and cross-disciplinary collaboration are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ work experience within DoW/Armed Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational expertise on Navy submarine fire control, combat control, and associated weapons systems.
• Support operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of fire control and combat system equipment.
• Analyze system performance and assist in identifying, isolating, and resolving hardware, software, and integration issues.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on submarine tactical systems, fire control processes, weapons employment, and associated operational procedures.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and T&E activities.
• Review technical documentation, system requirements, engineering specifications, test procedures, and configuration documentation.
• Assist with the development and execution of test plans, test procedures, demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
• Support configuration management and ensure system documentation reflects approved baselines and changes.
• Coordinate with Navy operators, engineers, government stakeholders, and industry partners to resolve technical issues.
• Translate operational requirements and fleet feedback into clear technical requirements and recommendations.
• Support technical reviews, working groups, program meetings, and customer engagements.
• Prepare technical reports, briefings, presentations, and other program documentation.
• Provide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational effectiveness.
• Maintain understanding of Navy policies, safety requirements, and security protocols.
