Job summary

Serco seeks an NPES Engineer to support U.S. Navy submarine operations and advanced undersea warfare systems. Former Navy Fire Control Technician or Fire Controlman background is highly valued.

The engineer will apply hands-on Navy experience to support operation, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of submarine fire control and combat systems, working with Navy personnel, engineers, and program staff. Some travel required and DoW Secret clearance is needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain DoW Secret clearance.
• 5+ years’ work experience within DoW, or Armed Services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Navy fire control, combat control, weapons control, or related tactical systems.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational expertise on Navy submarine fire control, combat control, and associated weapons systems.
• Support the operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of fire control and combat system equipment.
• Analyze system performance and assist in identifying, isolating, and resolving hardware, software, and integration issues.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise on submarine tactical systems, fire control processes, weapons employment, and related procedures.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and Test & Evaluation activities.
• Review technical documentation and system requirements to ensure accuracy and alignment with baselines.
