Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a highly skilled NPES Engineer to support U.S. Navy submarine operations and undersea warfare systems.

The role requires Navy Fire Control/Fleet experience, security clearance, and strong hands-on problem solving in complex electrical and weapon systems. You will work with Navy personnel, engineers, and program managers to ensure operational readiness and mission success. Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance.
• 5+ years’ work experience within DoW or Armed Services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with Navy fire control, combat control, weapons control, or related tactical systems.
• Strong reading of technical manuals, system documentation, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational expertise on Navy submarine fire control, combat control, and associated weapons systems.
• Support operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of fire control and combat system equipment.
• Analyze system performance and assist in identifying, isolating, and resolving hardware, software, and integration issues.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on submarine tactical systems, fire control processes, weapons employment, and operational procedures.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities.
• Review technical documentation, system requirements, engineering specifications, test procedures, and configuration documentation.
• Assist with the development and execution of test plans, test procedures, demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
• Support configuration management and ensure system documentation reflects approved baselines and changes.
• Coordinate with Navy operators, engineers, government stakeholders, and industry partners to resolve issues.
• Translate operational requirements and fleet feedback into clear technical requirements and recommendations.
• Support technical reviews, working groups, program meetings, and customer engagements.
• Prepare technical reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Provide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational effectiveness.
• Maintain understanding of Navy policies, safety requirements, and security protocols.
