Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Submarine Development Professional to support the Navy’s COLUMBIA class program, with a rotational learning path across submarine engineering, design, and R&D.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multiple experts and vendors to advance design decisions and program execution. The program offers mentorship, exposure to shipbuilding industry practices, and opportunities to work on critical defense initiatives that impact submarine safety and readiness.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• At least one year in an accredited university’s engineering, technology, computer science or science.
• Interest in shipbuilding.
• Experience using MS Office.
• Military veteran experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a job rotational program to learn various aspects of submarine engineering, design, research and development.
• Engage in areas such as structural systems, metallic and non-metallic materials, electrical and electronic systems, propulsion machinery, submarine acoustics, and related subsystems.
• Gain familiarity with the Submarine Shipbuilding Industry and exposure to a broad range of industry vendors, shipbuilding activities, and programmatic tools.
• Gain familiarity with submarine construction and design, submarine quality assurance programs, and Navy risk management processes.
• Help facilitate timely design and acquisition decisions.
• Interface with a broad range of experts and stakeholders.
• Be assigned a mentor to assist with resume development, interview techniques, and job searches.
