Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an NDT Engineer to support the US Navy's Submarine COLUMBIA program. The role focuses on integrating nondestructive testing, welding and materials expertise into submarine design and construction, with responsibilities spanning technical oversight and cross-stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications include a technical bachelor’s degree, 8 years in manufacturing/production support, and the ability to obtain a secret clearance. Travel ~10% is required.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in manufacturing/production support.
• Professional knowledge in materials, welding, nondestructive testing and mechanical engineering.
• Familiarity with Naval Shipbuilding welding and related NDT standards.

Responsibilities

• Integrate NDT best practices in design and construction of Columbia Class submarines.
• Provide design and integration support for Welding, Materials and NDT.
• Manage commitments, attend planning meetings, and interface with stakeholders.
• Direct investments in advanced NDT technology for submarine construction.
• Provide technical and contractual oversight of NDT and related areas.
• Coordinate with NAVSEA and other stakeholders to ensure timely responses.
• Identify and mitigate risks on significant projects within cognizance.
