Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking a Subcontracts Admin/Procurement Professional in Arlington, VA to develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts for mission-critical security system installations.

The role reports to a Subcontracts Manager and focuses on ensuring timely subcontractor placement. The ideal candidate will have 1–8 years in procurement/subcontracts, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and a solid grasp of procurement practices and contract law.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or engineering is required.
• 1–8 years of experience in supply chain, subcontracts, procurement, or related field.
• Knowledge of procurement practices, contract law, finance and accounting.
• Ability to manage non-routine assignments and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts in line with requirements and policies.
• Prepare complex solicitations and support proposal activities.
• Conduct price and cost analysis and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Manage subcontracts typically up to $100,000 with potential for higher-value work.
• Partner with program and procurement teams to ensure supplier performance and compliance.
• Identify and recommend process improvements.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Collaborate with suppliers, internal customers, and senior management as needed.

Job description

Due to tremendous growth, my client, a $3B leading engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Subcontracts Admin/Procurement Professional to develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts of moderate value, risk, and complexity. Reporting to a Subcontracts Manager, this position will this position will ensure that subcontractors are selected and in place for mission critical projects primarily related to security systems installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts in accordance with client requirements and procurement policies.
• Prepare complex solicitations and support proposal activities.
• Conduct price and cost analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, and subcontract provisions.
• Manage subcontracts typically valued up to $100,000, with opportunities to support higher-value agreements.
• Partner with program and procurement teams to ensure supplier performance and compliance.
• Identify and recommend process improvements.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Work with suppliers, internal customers, procurement teams, and senior management as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering
• Considering candidates from 1 to 8 years of experience in supply chain, subcontracts, procurement, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of procurement practices, contract law, finance, and accounting.
• Ability to independently manage non-routine assignments and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
