Job summary

Varstaff Staffing is supporting Blue Origin in Kent, WA, seeking an experienced Subcontract Administrator III to own the full procurement lifecycle within the SCM team. This contract role emphasizes sourcing through delivery, with emphasis on cradle-to-grave procurement, IPT collaboration, and aerospaceindustry standards.

The role requires strong follow-up, tracking discipline, and demonstrated experience in subcontract administration in an aerospace context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in subcontract administration, procurement, or purchasing.
• Aerospace industry experience is required.
• Demonstrated cradle-to-grave procurement experience.
• Experience managing supplier deliverables in IPT environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage cradle-to-grave procurement activities, including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, placing, and closing out purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Support New Product Integration (NPI) within SCM, ensuring new components and suppliers are introduced into the supply base.
• Execute purchasing activities for hardware, components, materials, and services for program needs.
• Follow up and track open orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules to mitigate risk.
• Serve as embedded member of cross-functional IPTs, driving procurement strategy.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing performance and escalations.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery to achieve best value.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting throughout procurement lifecycle.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

About the Role

Our client Blue Origin is seeking an experiencedSubcontract Administrator IIIto jointheirSupply Chain Management (SCM) team in support of New Product Integration.
In this contract role, you will own the full procurement lifecycle—from sourcing through delivery—while partnering closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure materials, components, and services are delivered on time and to specification.
This is a hands-on purchasing role requiring strong follow-up, tracking discipline, and aerospace industry expertise.

Responsibilities

• Managecradle-to-grave procurementactivities, including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, placing, and closing out purchase orders and subcontracts.
• SupportNew Product Integration (NPI)within SCM, ensuring new components and suppliers are successfully introduced into the supply base.

• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the procurement process.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in subcontract administration, procurement, or purchasing.
• Aerospace industry experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing cradle-to-grave procurement.
• Proven ability to follow up, track, and drive supplier deliverables to closure.
• Experience working within cross-functional teams (IPT environment).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to workonsitein Kent, WA.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by applicable export control regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting New Product Integration (NPI) or new product introduction within an SCM organization.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Costpoint).
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and aerospace supplier quality requirements.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with reporting/tracking tools.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth aerospace or manufacturing environment
