Sylvania is seeking a reliable Sub Cook to join our culinary team. In this substitute role, you will assist with food preparation and cooking in the absence of regular staff.

Your ability to follow recipes, maintain kitchen hygiene, and work under pressure will contribute to our food service operations. Responsibilities include preparing meals per established recipes, ensuring food safety, and helping with station setup and breakdown.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or experience is a plus.
• Previous kitchen/food service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking according to recipes and menus.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
• Set up and breakdown kitchen stations and dining areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality.
• Monitor inventory and assist with restocking.
• Clean equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain safety and organization.
• Follow head chef or kitchen manager instructions daily.
• Adapt to various kitchen roles including line cooking, prep, and dishwashing.
