Mount St. Mary’s University is seeking a Student Worker - Athletics Game Day Assistant (Work-Study) to help staff home games and events. The role emphasizes customer service, setup/teardown, and coordination with athletic staff to meet game-day standards.

Shifts occur in evenings and weekends; you will handle crowd management, communications on shifts, and support facilities operations under supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations and the Coordinator of Facilities and Events.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service. Assist with any questions asked.
• Assist in general set up and tear down for home game days, including sweeping, ball runners, locker room preparations, field set-up, towels and assisting other departments in athletics.
• Work both indoor and outdoor games, in all weather conditions.
• Responsible for all communication on shifts; must work or pick up assigned shifts.
• Assist in overseeing crowd management, security operations, and emergency preparedness for all events.
• Perform cleaning responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Title:

Student Worker - Athletics Game Day Assistant (Work-Study)

Job Description:

The purpose of the Gameday Assistant is to ensure our Gamedays are put on successfully, organized, and up to the standards of the operations department as well as Mount Athletics. They must have knowledge and understanding of Division 1 sports and work in a fast-paced environment with most games occurring in the evenings and on weekends. Students must have great communication skills and be able to work as a team and independently. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations, the Gameday Assistants will work closely with our Coordinator of Facilities and Events as well as our Assistant Director. Students will ensure that the standards set forth by the Athletic Department are being upheld.

Salary and Hours

• Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland.
• Weekend hours will be expected occasionally
• Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week.
