Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a Part-Time LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from LifeWise. The role requires a mature Christian faith and a clean driving history, with licenses appropriate to the vehicle type.

The driver will follow all traffic laws, maintain bus safety and cleanliness, conduct routine inspections, and assist with student safety and behavior. Classroom volunteering may be available.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in a local church aligning with LifeWise beliefs
• Regular driver’s license held for past 3 years
• CDL with passenger endorsement for vehicles over 15 passengers or no special license for 15-passenger vans
• Age 21–80; documentation for over 75 may be required
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last 5 years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Annual Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules and assist students entering/exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if invited by the Director
