Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional (Elementary) to support classroom instruction and supervision of students with special needs. The role is non-contract and does not include benefits, with daily hours around 5.75 and hourly pay options at lane 5–6 depending on training.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, implementing IEP/504 plans, monitoring student behavior, and performing clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities under supervising teacher to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work to support teachers in the classroom.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain hygiene.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives and IEP/504 plans.
• Maintains instructional materials and classroom files/records for mandated requirements.
• Monitors students in various school environments to ensure safety.
• Performs clerical duties to support school operations.
• Reports observations and incidents to instructional/administrative staff.
• Supervises and escorts students to/from classes for safety and learning environment.
