Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional - Elementary. This non-contract, no-benefits position provides 5 hours per day of support in the resource classroom, assisting with supervision, care and instruction of students with special needs and implementing IEP/504 plans.

The role includes adapting activities, administering basic first aid, assisting with tests and assignments, collecting data, and coordinating with teachers.

Qualifications

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials under supervision to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Administers tests, homework and make-up work for the purpose of supporting teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities for personal hygiene.
• Supervises and escorts students to/from classes for a safe learning environment.
