Job summary

Alpine School District seeks an instructional paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and supervision of special needs students in the resource classroom. You will assist in implementing IEP goals, monitor behavior, and provide clerical support to teachers and staff.

Responsibilities include adapting activities under supervision, delivering first aid as needed, assisting with assessments, and facilitating learning in individual or group settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within first 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under supervision to support classroom objectives and IEP goals.
• Provides basic first aid and health care assistance as directed by a health professional.
• Administers tests, homework and makeup work to support teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Supports students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Assists students individually or in groups with assignments to meet learning goals.
• Attends trainings and meetings to stay informed on job functions.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress on IEP/504 objectives.
• Models appropriate behavior and social interaction for students.
• Implements behavior plans identified in IEPs under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials, files and classroom equipment.
• Monitors students across various school settings to maintain safety.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Provides instruction in individual and group activities to reinforce learning.
• Reports incidents and observations to appropriate staff.
