Pink Tile Education are looking for a Student Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Bexley.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and who can provide consistent, patient and encouraging support throughout the school day.
You will work closely with students who have SEND and ASD , providing a combination of 1:1 support, classroom assistance and pastoral care. Your role will be to help students feel confident, included and able to engage with their learning and the wider school community.
We are looking for someone who takes a calm, respectful and non-judgemental approach and understands that every student has individual strengths, challenges and support needs.
Provide 1:1 support to students with ASD and additional learning needs.
Help students engage with lessons and classroom activities.
Provide practical and emotional support throughout the school day.
Work alongside teachers to help students access the curriculum.
Support students with organisation, concentration and maintaining focus.
Provide pastoral support and act as a trusted and approachable adult.
Help students manage emotions, social situations and changes to their routine.
Support students during transitions between lessons and activities.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships.
Help students develop their communication and social skills.
Adapt your support according to individual student needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with school life.
Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Experience in roles such as Student Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or SEN Teaching Assistant would be relevant.
