Tidewater Community College seeks a Part Time Progress Specialist for the Portsmouth Campus to support student success and retention by identifying at-risk students and coordinating with faculty and services. This grant-funded role involves proactive outreach, referrals, and collaboration with tutoring, counseling, and financial aid to help students

Qualifikationen

• Experience in academic advising, retention, student success, or a related area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of Pell-eligible and underserved student populations.

Aufgaben

• Revise and relaunch early alert and academic progress report programs focusing on gateway English and Math courses.
• Monitor alerts and performance of at-risk students using institutional data systems.
• Track credit accumulation and engage students not progressing toward 12 credits.
• Conduct targeted outreach via phone, text, and email to disengaged students.
• Provide proactive support to re-engage students and connect them to services.
• Refer students to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, academic coaching, and other services.
• Serve as a liaison between students and campus resources to resolve barriers to persistence and completion.
• Design and host small-group workshops on academic recovery and college navigation.
• Participate in retention team meetings and student success campaigns.
• Generate retention risk reports to inform outreach strategies.
