Job summary

Tidewater Community College invites applications for two Academic Success Coach positions at the Norfolk Campus. The role focuses on supporting student persistence, retention, and success through personalized planning, study skills, and campus engagement.

Responsibilities include coaching, workshops, SAP guidance, and collaboration with tutoring and advising to serve at-risk students. This is a grant-funded, part-time position requiring 25 hours weekly with occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience working with at-risk, probationary, or underserved college students.
• Strong understanding of academic advising and retention practices.
• Proficiency with CRM tools and Navigate or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to develop individualized Academic Success Plans (ASPs).
• Lead 5-week and 10-week progress checks to monitor academic performance.
• Lead workshops on syllabus navigation, time management, study skills, and goal setting.
• Provide SAP awareness and assist with SAP appeals including writing guidance.
• Collaborate with tutoring, advising, and faculty to deliver wraparound support for at-risk students.
• Track student progress in Navigate/CRM and elevate flags when needed.
