Job summary

Palm Beach State College is seeking a Student Success Specialist to support retention initiatives, meet with students to screen issues, and coordinate services across campus. The role involves collecting data, coordinating staff, and contributing to program development.

Ideal candidates have at least an associate’s degree with related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in student services or retention programs helpful.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Engages with students to identify academic and personal challenges impacting success.
• Refers students to campus resources and follows up on outcomes.
• Maintains records of program participation and student interactions.
• Coordinates activities of two or more staff.
• Assists with scheduling and administrative requirements including student workers, part-time, full-time, temporary, and volunteers.
• Assists with student panels, events, and workshops to improve retention and completion.
• Collects, organizes, and presents retention and completion data.
• Prepares reports for internal and external requests.
• Provides information to public, students, and staff about programs and services.
• Collaborates across departments to support department goals.
