Job summary

Bright Star Schools in Los Angeles is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students with IEPs in the general education setting. Under an Education Specialist, you will assist with instructional and behavioral support for a caseload of students with disabilities, including those with Autism or ADHD.

You will document service minutes in Welligent, communicate with teachers and specialists, implement accommodations, monitor progress, and help maintain a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must-have qualifications include 48 college units and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to lead, direct, and instruct students of all ages.
• Strong English verbal and written communication; flexible and able to think critically.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities across settings and with IEPs.
• Provide instructional support in push-in and pull-out settings with teachers.
• Maintain communication with ISTs and general education staff to meet student needs.
• Document service minutes and session details in Welligent by Friday 5pm.
• Assist in developing and monitoring IEP goals through observations and data.
• Support building a safe, welcoming learning environment and crisis de-escalation when needed.
