Job summary

Miami University seeks a Student Services Advocate to provide high-level, front-line services and outreach to students and families with exceptional customer service. This role resolves inquiries related to registration, billing, and financial aid, acting as a central resource across university systems.

Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Advocate will counsel on billing, enrollment, and policy procedures; collaborate with campus partners; and maintain accurate records while supporting

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree; OR Associate degree plus at least one year of full- or part-time experience in a customer-centric field; OR High school diploma/GED plus at least two years of full-time experience in a customer-centric field.
• Strong communication skills, problem solving, and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Experience with higher education systems or student accounts/billing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional, student-centered customer service and complex problem resolution via phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
• Counsels students and families regarding financial aid packages, billing statements, payment plans, and registration processes.
• Maintains case records and resolution metrics within the university’s ticketing/CRM system; supports outreach and communications initiatives.
