Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member role focuses on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school, helping them achieve academic success and develop positive behaviors at school.

You will train for 2–4 weeks at the start of the year and work with partner teachers and school staff to support students’ literacy, math, attendance, and engagement. This entry-level, full-time position offers meaningful service and community impact.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students across elementary, middle and/or high school.
• Ability to plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Willingness to collaborate with teachers and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups to boost literacy and math.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
• Support and implement school-wide programs and family engagement activities.
• Maintain and analyze student progress data in City Year systems.
• Participate in regular reviews of student data with staff.
