Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level City Year AmeriCorps Member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic success, improve attendance, and foster positive school behaviors in collaboration with teachers.

Two to four weeks of training are provided, and you’ll work closely with partner teachers and staff to monitor progress and deliver targeted support during class and after-school activities.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching/mentoring students is a plus.
• Ability to plan activities for literacy and math development.
• Willingness to work with teachers and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skills with varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior management for students.
• Track and monitor student progress with data.
• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction.
• Help develop an engaging, safe classroom environment.
