Job summary

Baton Rouge Community College seeks a Student Outreach - Success Coaching specialist to support program participants as they prepare for postsecondary education and workforce training. The role provides academic, career, admissions, financial aid, and referral assistance while expanding outreach in the service area.

The position emphasizes advising, recruitment, and collaboration with schools and community partners, including veterans and adult learners, to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience providing academic support services such as advising or counseling.
• Active, Unencumbered driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, counseling, mentoring, and support to participants.
• Assist participants with college admissions, FAFSA/financial aid, scholarships, and postsecondary opportunities.
• Develop and implement outreach strategies across the EOC service area.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, agencies, and veterans.
• Develop and conduct workshops on financial literacy, study skills, time management, and work readiness.
• Maintain electronic participant records and monitor progress.
• Support creation of outreach materials and coordinate events and logistics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
