Job summary

BRCC in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Student Success Advisor to provide direct support to EOC participants as they prepare for postsecondary education and workforce training. The role offers academic advising, career guidance, admissions, financial aid help, and referrals within the Academic Initiatives team.

Responsibilities include caseload management, outreach, partnerships, workshops on financial literacy and study skills, and maintaining accurate participant records.

Qualifications

• Experience with underrepresented/nontraditional students and knowledge of college admissions and financial aid processes.
• Strong public speaking, interpersonal, writing, organizational, and technology skills.
• Ability to work independently in a results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• 40% Caseload management with individualized advising, counseling, and support.
• 15% Recruitment and outreach across the program service area.
• 10% Build and maintain partnerships with schools and community organizations.
• 10% Develop and present workshops on financial literacy, study skills, and goal setting.
• 15% Maintain accurate electronic participant records and monitor progress.
• 5% Create program outreach materials and coordinate events.
• 5% Other duties as assigned.
