Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior across elementary to high school levels. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff.

You will engage in literacy and math activities, develop classroom engagement, and participate in school-wide events to boost student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to earn academic success and develop positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on in-class instruction and student assistance.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students, including 1:1 and small group work.
• Participate in extended day and virtual programming to increase student engagement and family involvement.
