Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student success coach and mentor as part of AmeriCorps in Ohio. You will coach and mentor students to help them earn academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors in school, while partnering with teachers on classroom activities.

Training is provided at the start of the year, followed by ongoing support from staff. This full-time role offers benefits and the chance to serve communities through City Year AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching or mentoring students is not required; training provided at year start.
• Learn to work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring elementary to high school students to achieve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress; support teachers with in-class activities.
• Develop routines to improve attendance, behavior, and study habits.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect, record, and monitor student progress in City Year’s student data system.
