Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member is an entry-level, full-time position focused on coaching and mentoring students to improve academics, attendance, and school behaviors. You will support teachers, run 1:1 and small group sessions, and assist with class activities and student progress data.

2–4 weeks of initial training will be provided; a background check is required and eligibility is tied to U.S. citizenship/residency rules and age limits.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not necessary.
• Training provided 2–4 weeks at the beginning of the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on instruction.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students in 1:1 and small groups.
• Help create engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces with teachers.
