Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary, middle, or high school settings. You will help students achieve academic progress, improve attendance, and foster positive behaviors.

The role includes planning and monitoring individual progress, collaborating with teachers on in-class support, and participating in ongoing training to build skills for impact and growth within City Year programs across the US.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.
• Coaches and mentors students 1:1 or in small groups.
• Collaborates with teachers and school staff to support student progress.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups to build literacy and math skills.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills through daily practice and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, and monitor student progress in City Year's data system.
