Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors, providing academic support, attendance improvement, and positive behavioral development for elementary to high school students. You will work with teachers to plan instruction, monitor progress, and contribute to whole-class and in-class student assistance initiatives.

Training is provided at the start of the year, and members receive a living stipend along with AmeriCorps benefits.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students toward academic success and improved attendance
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and growth
• Support teachers with small-group instruction and in-class student assistance
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers
• Lead extended day and after-school activities to boost student engagement
• Support and implement City Year initiatives to foster learning and development
