Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as entry-level, paid, full-time staff focused on student success. You will coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, supporting academic achievement, attendance, and positive behavior.

Training is provided, and you will collaborate with teachers and staff to promote student growth and school engagement. The role emphasizes hands-on student support, data-informed progress checks, and active participation in school community initiatives.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2-4 weeks of training provided.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support students.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in small groups to build academic skills.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support class instruction.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities tailored to each student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system to support student learning.
• Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment in partnership with teachers.
