Job summary

Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking an Advisor in the School of Professional Studies to provide academic advising, coaching, and proactive support from deposit through program completion. The role includes cross-disciplinary Master's programs, certificates, and student services coordination.

The Advisor will host webinars, assist with orientation, track progress, and collaborate with units across the university to ensure student success and a seamless experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • 2 years related experience required.
  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with NACADA, NASPA and advising organizations desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel new students on curricular and extracurricular options within their program.
  • Assist and present at orientation, program meetings and major events.
  • Maintain knowledge of program curricular details and changes in faculty.
  • Coordinate with Academic Programs, Admissions, International Students and Scholars Office, and other units.
