Job summary

Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking a dedicated Success Coach to support students’ academic planning, goals, and progress within the new advising model. You will collaborate with faculty and staff to strengthen advising, interpret college requirements, and help students design short- and long-term academic plans.

The 12-month administrative role emphasizes equity, retention, and graduation, with regular student outreach and use of advising tools, supporting diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Guide students in identifying their strengths, challenges, interests, and academic habits.
• Assist students in setting achievable academic goals and action plans.
• Develop realistic educational career plans with short-term semester plans and long-term degree plans.
• Ensure students have an up-to-date academic plan to follow as they pursue degree completion.
• Understand and adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Provide accurate and timely information; communicate information effectively.
• Maintain student records and organize resources for each student.
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance advisement and refer students to resources.
• Manage a caseload from first semester through degree completion or transfer.
• Track student progress using advisings tools and data to trigger timely interventions.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree (preferred)
