Job summary

New York University’s Stern School of Business seeks an Academic Advisor for the Undergraduate College to deliver academic advising, counseling, and student services to prospective and current students. The role also develops advising programming, promotes study away opportunities, and interviews candidates for exchanges and Stern programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in counseling or student personnel administration and event planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication; able to interact with students, staff, faculty and external groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising, counseling, and student services for prospective, new, and current students.
  • Develop and coordinate academic advising programming and study away opportunities.
  • Interview candidates for international exchanges and Stern-sponsored programs.
  • Represent advising and Stern at events; communicate program updates via digital platforms (website, email, social media).
  • Assist with marketing of programs and deadlines; support university-wide events.
