Job summary

East Side House seeks a Student Advisor at George Washington High School YABC in New York. You will manage a caseload of 60–70 students, conduct intake and outreach, coordinate with counselors, and guide students through college and career paths, including FAFSA and applications.

The role requires a BA/BSW with two years of youth services experience, strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work evenings and some remote. DOE clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BSW with at least two years youth services experience.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and time management.
• Knowledge of community service/development; familiarity with DOE platforms.

Responsibilities

• Be primary contact for a caseload of ~60–70 students.
• Conduct daily attendance, academic, and social-emotional outreach.
• Refer students to academic and support services; consult with counselors.
• Maintain student charts/records; ensure milestones are met.
• Attend meetings, trainings and virtual sessions as needed.
• Lead workshops and group activities for caseload.
