Job summary

UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ is seeking a Student Services Generalist to guide students through registration, advise on courses, and support degree completion. Based in all campuses, you will serve as a primary contact in the One Stop Operations center and coordinate communication with students and families.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and outstanding customer service, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with students and staff.
• Quick study with ability to grasp policies and procedures quickly.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; initiative to resolve issues.
• Ability to collaborate with others and support retention initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and information to students and parents regarding admission, registration, financial aid, and student services.
• Monitor service flows in the One Stop Centers and ensure smooth processes.
• Review and process payments, tuition waivers, and account inquiries.
• Develop academic and action plans to guide students toward on-time graduation.
• Coordinate communications to student caseload via calls, texts, emails, and retention tools.
• Assist with student planning for course selection and registration; support orientations and literacy programs.
