Job summary

UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ in Scotch Plains is seeking a Communications Center Generalist to greet and assist prospective and current students with enrollment services, transcripts, advising, and financial aid. The role also supports events, room reservations, and campus communications.

You will handle inquiries via calls, chats, emails, and other platforms, directing to the appropriate offices and ensuring timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in communication platforms including but not limited to CRMs, Mainstay, Constant Contact, and ConexED.
• Proficient in reporting and using data to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manages a high volume of inbound calls to the college in a timely manner.
• Answers inbound calls and uses messaging, chats, video calls, texts and emails to assist callers.
• Directs callers to the appropriate department or self-service resources.
• De-escalates dissatisfied callers with patient assistance.
• Prepares operational summaries and basic activity reports on outreach and events.
• Supports room reservations and campus-wide event scheduling.
• Field inquiries from external organizations interested in renting facilities.
